Access Ability CIC was invited to attend speak at the Disability Confident Employer Event to discuss with potential employers in the Blackburn with Darwen.

The conference was organised to;

  • Discuss how local Companies need to change their thinking to improve both their business and their workplace to employ Deaf and disable people.
  • Introduce a range of successful and talented disabled people who will tell their story of the things and the people that helped them get into work and stay there.
  • Provide the opportunity to learn the facts about employing disabled people and gain the practical tools and advice needed.

“If the employment rate for disabled people matched that of the rest of the population, an extra two million disabled people would be working”

In July 2013 the Government, with business and disability employment organisations, launched the disability confident campaign. The campaign will help all employers become disability confident; improve your business, your workplace and your customer service.
