Lancashire Care Foundation Trust, Health Improvement Specialist Team
The ‘Communities Against Cancer’ team came to our Burnley Job Club to raise the awareness of the early signs and symptoms of breast, bowel and lung cancer to encourage early diagnosis and to save lives. These are the 3 biggest Cancers for the East Lancashire Area.
It was not just to make themselves more aware but also to be able to pass their new knowledge of the signs and symptoms on to family and friends. This was done in a fun and light hearted way in a easy to understand concept similar to ‘play your cards right’, which was pitched at the right level for the group. Everyone enjoyed the session and had fun, even though it is a serious health issue for the local area.
