 Health and Safety Awareness in Workplace

This awareness course is design to increase the participants knowledge and awareness of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, which requires employers’ to ensure that employees are provided with adequate information and training on health and safety in the workplace. This health and safety awareness course is intended to fulfill this legal requirement, and to ensure that participants have the knowledge and skills to keep themselves safe in the workplace. The training content includes; Reasons for Managing Health and Safety; Health and Safety Law; Employer and Employee Responsibilities; Health and Safety Information; Enforcement of Health and Safety Law; Hazards and Risks; Risk Assessment and Control; Personal Protective Equipment; Health and Safety Signs; Accidents and Near Misses.

Manual Handling Awareness Training

This training is to increase participant’s knowledge and awareness of the relevant legislation of Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Our training provides specific information and practical training on manual handling injury risks and prevention, which works towards steps to reduce “the risk of injury from a manual handling task will be increased where workers do not have the information or training necessary to enable them to work safely”. The training includes the definition of manual handling and the manual handling law; manual handling risk factors and how injuries can occur; Structure, function and anatomy of the spine; how to carry out safe manual handling, including good handling technique; appropriate systems of work for the individual’s task and environment; use of mechanical aids; and practical work to allow the trainer to identify and put right anything the trainee is not doing safely.
